#017: PixelGlyphs, NFT Drops Recap, and Jason Seife
Welcome to the NFTDrops newsletter!
This week we will break down PixelGlyphs, recap NFT Drops from the past week, and look into the artist Jason Seife.
Here we go!
PixelGlyphs
A brief overview of the collection:
10,000 on-chain #1/1 NFTs created through the generative art process
The collection sold out just one day after dropping, with 1,500 unique owners
The Glyphs were created with the intention of collectors using them as avatars in the Metaverse, similar to many drops we have seen in the NFT space to date
Floor price: 0.02 ETH. These are affordable NFTs!
PixelGlyphs Twitter Account
A few things set this group of NFTs apart:
"The Great Naming Ceremony" will allow owners to name their PixelGlyphs, a name that will forever exist on the Blockchain and be displayed on web platforms like OpenSea
Soon, PixelGlyphs will release technology enabling a variety of apps to access users' avatars through an online library system. This way the NFTs can truly serve their purpose as digital embodiments of collectors
An advantage of the generative art process, but one few collections have taken advantage of until now, is the ability for the product to morph. Owners of PixelGlyphs can change the way their avatar looks at any time, all they need is some ETH to cover gas fees. The code that makes up each NFT can be rewritten (re-generated) to yield a completely new-looking Glyph

Artist Spotlight
This week's Artist of the Week was Jason Seife. He is a digital artist and painter. He recreates and reimagines Persian carpets using mediums such as painting, animation, and sculpture. Seife's parents were immigrants from the Middle East, so Persian carpets were a large part of his childhood. He is inspired by both the aesthetics and history behind the imagery of Persian carpets that he grew up around. Seife is also well known for his recent collaborations with Jordan for the opening of the Jordan Store in Dubai. He has also worked with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Mac Miller, Big Sean, and more. Seife is another great example of an artist who has successfully transitioned from more traditional mediums into the digital art and crypto spaces. His work is constantly evolving as he tries new methods and mediums of art.
That's It!
