Welcome to 2021’s penultimate edition of the NFT Drops newsletter! There is a lot of big news to unpack from the past two weeks, so let’s hop right into it!
💧
NFT News Recap
sartoshi dropped a collection of 10,021 mfers that are now available for resale on OpenSea. The collection sold out on November 30th in just ten minutes! After minting for 0.069 ETH and shooting all the way up to 0.21 ETH on drop day, they now have a floor price of 0.09 ETH.
The Wanderers collection announced that they will be dropping avatars for all Wanderers NFTs in 2022. The avatars are built on a recent ‘Warp Squad’ airdrop of sixteen different lost voyagers. See four below:
The Ape Kids Club is a collection of 10K baby Ape NFTs that are really hot right now. Since tweeting about them on December 2nd, the floor price has more than tripled to 0.75 ETH.
A collection of 20,000 Clone X avatars dropped, making huge waves in NFT news during early December. The ambitious project comes from RTFKT studios, a collectible brand that has been involved in NFTs from the jump. The Clones generated 6.2K ETH in volume in their first week of existence, and long-term metaverse implementations make them a great investment.
Playground, a generative artwork mainstay on Solana, dropped their second-ever collection through Magic Eden on Friday 12/10. “Epochs” sold out in under a minute, as only 653 NFTs were available for public sale. The mint price was 3 SOL, and the Epoch floor now sits at only 3.2 SOL. Playground’s genesis collection, “Playground Waves”, has a floor price of 11 SOL.
dutchtide is an artist from the Netherlands who dropped a twitter banner NFT project with reveals happening today (12/13). Each element of the “Midnight Breeze” artwork is hand-painted in a 90’s anime aesthetic. The floor price following reveal is only 0.021 ETH!
Drop Spotlight: Pak on Nifty Gateway
From December 2nd to December 4th, Pak showed us why they are now the number one crypto artist of all time (measuring by highest total artwork value).
Pak returned to Nifty Gateway for the launch of the “Merge” collection, which sold more than 266,000 Open Edition NFTs! Insane.
Each NFT was sold at $500, and over 28,000 collectors purchased at least one for an average of just under 10 tokens per buyer.
As for drop mechanics, the only Open Edition available to purchase was a $500 “Mass” token. During the 48 hour sale, people could acquire as many mass units as they wanted.
Coming soon, each collector will receive a dynamic and unique NFT based on the amount of mass accumulated. The more mass, the bigger and more complex the NFT.
New Project: Update from Loopify
Just a few hours ago, Loopify announced a project that has been in the works for almost all year. Interleave is an idea 8 months in the making, catalyzed by the Meebits collection from Larva Labs that dropped in May.
Interleave is an NFT production company founded by Loopify and friends that aims to explore the little-known universe of media NFTs.
Dropping first is a 5 minute short film about humanity in the wake of a meteor. The storyline ties into another Loopify project, the Treeverse, and features some Bored Apes of BAYC. Following this production, a ten minute and fifteen minute film will complete the “Arcadia Trilogy”.
The drop will occur via Metadrop on Thursday, 10:00pm GMT.
